Symbia's General Manager directs Multi-site fulfillment/warehouse operations of e-commerce and business to consumer clients through a team of front-line supervisors and lead employees to ensure efficient use of resources with manpower, materials, and equipment. Provides direction, development, and leadership to all facility employees either directly or indirectly through supervisors and lead personnel. Oversee all daily operations of multiple sites that center from order production to administration and customer service. Ensures policies and procedures are followed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the financial management of the P&L for the multiple sites. Effectively lead the workforce, instilling motivation and communicating effectively to achieve maximum results while controlling costs.
  • Review costs and service quality and modify order production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of the warehouse.
  • Work with our sales team and our active clients to obtain new books of business in a given region.
  • Utilize keen financial acuity to drive profitability at our sites.
  • Ensure compliance with service quality standards for each customer within the facility.
  • Build client engagement and maintain an open line of communication with existing clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop repetitive processes. Must be able to quantify conversations with clients for requests outside of Symbia's standard scope.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and identify opportunities for improvement in the warehouse and in the office management.
  • Team with clients and multiple departments to achieve client agreement implementation and agreement conversions.
  • Implement and document an appropriate performance evaluation for recommending promotions, wage increases, and terminations.
  • Coordinate with operations managers to resolve employee issues and handle any related actions with the support of the HR team.
  • Coordinate activities through planning with operation managers to ensure the company objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Review daily order production and operating reports and direct the resolution of operational e-fulfillment problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent customer delivery delays.
  • Determine responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Review and help manage Client Invoicing and Accounts Receivable process support.
  • Develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Progressive Multi-Site Sr. Level Distribution and Warehouse Operations Leadership and Management (7+ years)
  • 7-8 years of Sector Experience required: (Fulfillment, Consumer Goods, etc.)
  • Experience dealing with WMS programs and integrations, Retail Compliance and Omni-Channel distribution, Fulfillment, eCommerce (B2B and B2C) and 3PL experience is a must to be successful in this role.
  • Experience developing and executing strategies/annual plans (budget, operational performance, SOP's, client plans, etc.)
  • Long term experience managing KPI reporting
  • Ability to lead with a continuous improvement mentality and processes (Six Sigma, ISO, Lean)
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes with customers in a 3PL environment
  • Proven results with C-level clientele
  • Experience managing and developing multi-site budgets and P&L's as well as setting attainable goals
  • Advanced Degree Preferred - MBA or relevant Master's OR related experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities may be required for this role. These abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, as well as good depth perception.
  • Must have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Expectation is at least two hours straight, four times in an eight-hour day.
  • You will need to be able to twist, bend, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis.
  • Repetitive movements are a big part of our environment, so you will need to be able to use your hands and feet simultaneously.
  • This is a warehouse environment, so it consists of occasional extreme temperature shifts ranging from very cold to very hot.
  • If you are operating Industrial Lift Equipment, you will need to be able to get on and off the equipment on a regular basis. Certain equipment may expose you to heights as well.
  • There can be exposure to loud noises and dust.
  • You will have regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and moving equipment.
